ABOUT US
The
Learn From The MastersTM Martial Art Seminar Series
and www.MAMaster.com are founded by Edmund Sim and Thomas
Ho in June 2004 with the inaugural Judo Throwing/Grappling Seminar
conducted by Sensei Tang Soon Onn of SA Judo School. Being avid
martial art enthusiasts with a combined martial art training experience
of 42 years, both Edmund and Thomas who are themselves members of the Singapore Martial Arts Instructor Association have trained with many masters in numerous martial art styles. In Jan 2005, Mr. Tay Yong
Sing joined the MAMaster project team.

Thomas Ho ]
Thomas
is a full time private tutor and holds a degree in Business
Administration from the University of Western Sydney. He also
conducts speech & drama lesson on a part time basis. Thomas
obtained his blackbelt 1st dan in Korean Hapkido from Flying Eagle
Hapkido Association in 1991 and he currently holds a blackbelt 4th dan in Hapkido. Thomas also holds a blackbelt in Taekwondo.
[ Edmund Sim ]
Edmund Sim is a pharmacist by profession. He graduated from the National University of Singapore where he was also the Chairman of NUS Nam Wai Pai in 1991/2.
As a eclectic martial artist and enthusiast, Edmund has trained with many masters in various martial art styles over more than 2 decades. He holds blackbelt in Shitoryu Karate, Taekwondo, Korean Hapkido, Chanbara and Nam Wai Pai.
With a keen interest in chinese internal arts, Edmund has trained with various renowned chinese internal arts masters from Beijing. This includes Grandmaster Liu Jinru (Cheng style BaGua Zhang), Dr. Ma Xuzhou (Ma Style Qigong) and Grandmaster Yao ChengGuang (Yi Quan). In the area of Hard Qigong, Edmund received his training from Grandmaster Sim Poh Huat (Nam Wai Pai) and Grandmaster Teo Choon Teck (San Cheen Do).
His hapkido masters include Grandmaster Sunny Tan (Flying Eagle Hapkido) and Grandmaster Julian Lim (Song Moo Kuan Hapkido). Edmund is also one of the 2 Singaporean known to be tested and awarded with blackbelt certification in Flying Eagle Hapkido, Song Moo Kuan Hapkido and certified by the Korean Hapkido Federation. Master Yeo Chiah Seng (Singapore Taekwondo Gymnasium) and Master Samuel Tan (Singapore Taekwondo Federation) were among some of the Taekwondo masters whom Edmund has trained with.
Besides Korean arts, Edmund has also received training in Japanese arts like Judo, Jujitsu, Bujinkan Ninjutsu, Chanbara and Shitoryu Karate. He continue to practice Shitoryu Karate and Ma Style Qigong today.

Tay Yong Sing ]
Yong
Sing holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science
and is currently working as a software developer/business
development executive in the IT industry. As a martial arts
enthusiast/practitioner, Yong Sing has been practicing martial
arts since he was a kid. Some of the arts that he has trained
in are Jujitsu, Aikido, Krav Maga, Jeet Kune Do, Khong Chang and Hapkido. He is currently helping Sifu Mark Stewart to Jeet Kune Do in Singapore. .

For
the first time ever in Singapore, you can multiply your fighting
arsenal and experience various martial arts by attending our seminars.
Each seminar will feature established master in the respective martial
art.
Our Learn From The MasterTM Martial Art Seminar Series
is professionally designed for all levels by our project leaders
who are themselves skilled in various martial arts. So whether
you are a newcomer, instructor, black belt or an experienced martial
artist, there will be a suitable seminar for you.
If
you are a novice to the martial art, our seminars will provide you
with the opportunity to experience various martial arts. At the
same time, you get to interact with the most reputable masters in
the respective arts and also fellow martial art enthusiasts.
And
for the serious martial artists, our seminar will provide you with
the opportunity to enhance your fighting skill by acquiring new
techniques and knowledge regardless of style.
